The Volvo 18-Meter Bridge Inspection Unit is a heavy-duty, truck-mounted under-bridge access platform engineered for bridge inspection, maintenance, rehabilitation, and structural repair. Mounted on a Volvo FM450 8×4 chassis, it provides a safe and efficient alternative to conventional scaffolding, suspended platforms, and lane closures, enabling maintenance crews to access bridge soffits, bearings, piers, expansion joints, and other hard-to-reach structural components with minimal disruption to traffic.

Its advanced boom system combines articulated and telescopic sections to deliver an 18-meter horizontal under-bridge reach, 21-meter downward working depth, and 16.2-meter upward reach. A 4.1-meter extendable platform further expands the working envelope, allowing operators to inspect complex bridge geometries, bridge edges, sound barriers, and confined areas from a single vehicle position, significantly reducing setup time while improving inspection efficiency.
